Kayden Arenas-Catrett

Kayden Keuaokalani Arenas-Catrett was born and died May 4 at Kapiolani Medical Center Hospital on Oahu.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 17 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hawi for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at the Kohala County Cemetery.

He is survived by parents, Kennelyn Arenas and Pono Catrett, both of Kapaau; grandparents, Rhoniel and Divina Arenas and Izzy Kalaau-Catrett, all of Kapaau; great-grandmothers, Carol Kalaau, Maria Ramos and Rosalinda Arenas, all of Kapaau; great-grandfather, Erdulfo Ramos, of Kapaau; an uncle; two aunts.

Robert Jablonski

Robert “Bob” Eugene Jablonski, 79, of Kailua-Kona, died May 14 at his residence. Born Feb. 11, 1933, in Milwaukee, he was the owner of BJ Pools and Spas, captain of the “Manini” commercial fishing boat, a Navy veteran and member of Kona Elks Lodge, Men’s Club Makalei Golf Course and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. May 18 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kona Stake Center in Kailua-Kona for a 7 p.m. service. Burial is at 9 a.m. May 19 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Linda Jablonski, of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Lori (Larry Tagg) Jablonski, of Sacramento, Calif., Lisa (Jim) Graves, of Buena Park, Calif.; hanai daughter, Jo Ellen (Jerry) Cerny, of Kaneohe, Oahu; stepson, Ross Crampton, of Kailua-Kona; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Joyce Yamagata

Joyce Lynn Yamagata, 51, of Kailua-Kona, died May 14 in Kona. Born May 1, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio, she was a homemaker and registered nurse.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. May 18 at Kona Hongwanji in Kealakekua for a 5 p.m. service.

She is survived by husband, Dave Yamagata, of Kailua-Kona; sons, Glenn Patterson and Dave Yamagata Jr., both of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Jamie Yamagata, of Kailua-Kona, Malia (Daniel) Frederickson, of Boulder, Colo.; brothers, Terry Hill, of California, Robert Hill Jr., of Hilo, Keith (Wendy Newlon-Hill) Hill, of Kailua-Kona; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Marcelino Gabriel

Marcelino “Celin” Pascual Gabriel, 100, of Papaikou, died May 7 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 5, 1911, in Cammangaan, Laoag City, Philippines, he came to Hawaii as one of the 1946 Sakada Group, was a retired planting machine crewman for Mauna Kea Sugar Co. and member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou

Friends may call at 5 p.m. May 21 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 6:30 p.m. service. Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 22 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial will be at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section) in Hilo. Family requests work or appropriate casual attire be worn.

He is survived by sons, Andy (Cecill) Gabriel, of Hilo, Terry (Claire) Gabriel, of Papaikou, Bernard (Debra) Gabriel, of Phoenix; daughter, Perpetua Melchor, of Papaikou; brother, Juan (Pacita) Gabriel, of Ewa, Oahu; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Wallace Ahuna

Wallace “Barrel” Watty Ahuna, 67, of Hilo, died May 13 at Hilo Medical Center. Born Nov. 7, 1944, in Hilo, he was a retired supervisor for Better Brands, a Navy veteran and member of the Keaukaha Golf Club and Puhi Bay Ohana.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. May 22 at the Puhi Bay main tent for an 11 a.m. servic. Scattering of his ashes and luncheon follow. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by brothers, Robert (Millie) Shioji and Walter (Martha) Ahuna, both of Hilo, George (Eva) Ahuna, of Oregon; sisters, Luella Aina and Wanda (Pat) Cardines, both of Hilo; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thelma Jones

Thelma Marie Groff Jones, 89, formerly of Aiea, Oahu, died May 9 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born in Philadelphia, she was a professional singer, a World War II veteran and aviation metal smith stationed at Barbers Point, Oahu.

Private services will be held at a later date.

She is survived by sister, Pearl (Roger) Jacobson, of Aiea, Oahu.

Greg Cameron

Greg Scott Cameron, 52, of Waimea, died May 9 at his residence. Born July 15, 1959, in Onaway, Mich., he was a firefighter and paramedic for the County of Hawaii at the South Kohala Fire Station.

A public memorial will be scheduled.

He is survived by daughter, Lacey Cameron, of Puako; son, Ethan Cameron, of Waimea; companion, Mona Cameron, of Honolulu; parents, Christopher (Silvey) Cameron, of Windsor, Calif.; brothers, Doug Cameron, of Waikoloa, Bradley (Ellisa) Cameron, of Greenbrae, Calif., Brian (Stacy) Cameron, of Santa Rosa, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.
